I have fished quite a bit this winter and have not once seen them. Any you can drive by the refuge Island all the way up to 58 bridge and see folks fishing along the banks outside the buoys. Why have laws that aren't enforced? Makes no sense.

Enforcing the game laws should be factored into the budget. For Example, Missouri Dept of Conservation- on Table Rock Lake, alone, 2 game wardens and 2 creel checkers = 4 boats and salary's. Then there is Mo State Water Patrol- 3 boats and salary's. This is just one lake. And they are out in force 365. Expensive. But I agree, 3 years on the Chick now and I've only seen TWRA like-twice. 1 Sheriff. ??

I ain't trying to be a douche, but until there are serious issues in the area you are fishing/dealing with morons on the water, they don't care. Reason is there isn't funds to patrol or be everywhere. Folks bitched when the TN license fee went up to $36. Until there is a serious issue they can't do it, and when they have to, we all pay for it. If you want police on our waterways well... good luck getting people to pay for it.

I know, I am a douche :p

I feel yah Tim! I saw a lot of people this last weekend all up in the refuge. Who knows if any of these folks are fishing tx's. They should post more signs and make a pass through on the weekends. They would make plenty of money in tickets

There also are many people who do not know that they are suppose to stay between the buoys. There should be a big sign put on 58 bridge as well as Hiway 60. when I was growing up in the 60's and 70's there was a big sign in the middle of the river close to the ferry crossing and one up above the island on the Tenn.

They showed up for the CFF weigh in. emoPoke Did boat checks, life jacket checks, parking lot parking tickets,....whoever asked they must have read this and took care of us. emoEek There were a couple guys who got tickets. You got your wish about them showing up. emoBigsmile Jmax

Got checked a few weeks back in grasshopper,,,bet they are out in FORCE next weekend

Was talking with a warden today during our high school tournament at the dam, and he said they were writing tickets at the refuge today for fishing outside the bouys.

Ive seen TWRA officers out all winter. Criticizism is sometimes not the correct way to handle our concerns. They showed up in force today to prove a point because I am sure they read this post. To be honest, it wasted ALOT of our time and theres when they could have been out actually looking for the ones that are breaking the laws of the lake. Never been checked in the PARKING LOT but in sure they was wanting to make a point. Be careful what we ask for as we might just get it. Super nice guy that checked me. Feels good to have some LEO's that can have a casual conversation. Enjoyed the day on the Lake with my son. Tight lines all!!

Well dumb me... I didn't know there were any protected waters on the chick. Where is this refuge area located!

Btw... there should have been tickets got reckless driving by some of the boaters at Chester frost today. I saw Derek's boat get smacked, my tolling motor got bumped and another boat get slammed while it was trying to load up.

Wild day.
