Gel Coat Protection

A garage.... ;) lol

I think wax is good, but anytime I have waxed mine I have used an RV wash/wax that is made to showcase your paint job. Really brings out the shine on a boat that has flake in it

Blue Coral Carnauba paste wax. It is the easiest paste wax I have ever found to apply and wipe off. If you like a liquid wax, I recommend Mothers California Gold carnauba cleaner wax- VERY easy to use!

As a rule, paste wax will last longer than liquid.

I use Gel Coat wash and wax on my RV, but it will NOT prevent fading over time!

Furniture polish works great when wiping off at the ramp, and is much cheaper than bass boat saver. Paste waxes are the best at actual protection, but a garage works best, as mentioned above.

You can use a good Carnauba wax but don’t use anything with silicon in it. Silicon is bad for the gel coat. You could use Pledge or something like Churly does but I wouldn't. Although Pledge will make it shine is does nothing to protect the hull, there are no UV inhibiters in most furniture polishes. I have also heard that Pledge will eventually yellow white hulls.

I use Maguire’s boat wax twice a year and wipe my boat down with Bass Boat Saver every third trip. As Churly said BBS is more expensive than Pledge BUT I only have to wipe my boat down every third trip, so maybe in the long run BBS IS cheaper. I haven't had a problem with keeping my boats looking like new, and I have owned white hulled boats for the past 5 years.

I use fresh skipjack oil on mine. It doesn't make it shine or keep it from fading, but it sure does keep the other boats far enough away from me that I can fish an area in peace emoBigsmile

oh yeah!!!!LOL!!!

It is garaged kept - with a cover even - but it is a 2008 Triton and I want to take care best I can. Don't know about the skipjack theory, EricM, maybe you can take me out for a "BIG CAT ADVENTURE" and show me that up close and personal.
