We decided to end the season early this year to get you guys in the woods sooner. 2016 will be a blast, and we'll be having a lot of fun on the Facebook page with all the video and stills gathered from the fish-off last year. For those who missed out, in addition to the regular season events and the classic & boat prize we had a no entry fee fish-off with a reduced field (10 boats) that paid out $2000 to the winner. This was based on AOY points. This year, we will have more of these. The dates and info for this year's fishoffs will be added soon. The content generated will be used to keep the social media pages fresh and fun. Stay tuned this season for Buddy and Greg's virtuoso performance, as well as other vids and photos gathered from the fish-offs. Here's to another great year!
Registration will open March 2nd at Island Cove Outdoor Center.
Quick info rundown:
-The Classic prize is a Tracker boat, courtesy of Island Cove Outdoor Center.
-Bass rigs of any horsepower are allowed. Last year we lifted the 175HP restriction to include all HP (USCG legal) motors, and we do not intend to change that going forward.
-A-Rigs are not permitted in regular season events & the Classic. This rule may not apply toward the fishoffs, however, depending on the format chosen for the reduced field fish-offs (more info on that to come). It's nothing personal. The rule has been in place since the very first season.
-No drops for AOY. There are a few different ways to make the classic in order for it to be fair for everyone but still keep it competitive.
-The fish-offs will be based on the most current AOY standings to the date of each event.
-Genesis 27:3 is the inspiration for the name of the series. Most of us probably wish it could have made the list as one of the Ten Commandments.
Hope to see you out there this year. God bless!
