First time updating a previous post. Hopefully I don't mess anything up...
-New name for the series is "Gen273", short for Genesis 27:3.
-The Team Shootout scheduled for October will be sponsored by Gambler Lures. Contestants will have GoPro cams (others cams must be approved by TD) equipped in their boat during the tournament. They will also be required to fish with Gambler baits only. Much more info on this to come.
-Registration HQ for the South series (Chester Frost) will be at Island Cove Outdoor Center.
-Registration HQ for the North series (Grasshopper Creek) will be at Lucky's Feed and Farm Supply in Georgetown.
-After the first event, members of either division will have the option to register via PayPal through the website. You must register at the designated sign up location for the first event in order to receive your membership card.
-This year we will host registration from Wednesday to Wednesday, prior to the event. For example, registration for the March 1st tournament will begin February 18th and will conclude February 25th. This keeps the tournament director from having to scramble to make deposits and post boat order. Late registration is allowed, but you'll be put last in the boat order.
-Boat order will still be randomized from a spreadsheet. It will be posted to the website on Thursday before the tournament.
-The website is complete, but I'm waiting on the host crew in AL to finalize the new web address. Maybe up by Friday? <www.gen273fishing.com> Once it's up, take some time to navigate the pages. Please don't hesitate to text, call or FB with any questions. As content continues to build you will see slight changes in the structure of the home page, but for the most part it's pretty easy to navigate. There will be lots of photo and video updates, so keep up! I built social media plugins to the site, so I'll share all posts directly to Facebook. Be sure to "like" and follow on Facebook (Gen273 Fishing).
-Lastly, the Facebook page has been updated with new name and graphics.
I hope these changes will be something you guys can be proud of. You guys are hands down the best "local" anglers I've ever been around, and many of you would be competitive on any stage.

Guys,
I've had to wait a bit longer to post the schedule in order to finalize the changes for next year. There are changes. Most, I hope, will be an improvement on what has already been built. None of them are intended to isolate or cut off any particular group of anglers...they're just what needed to happen to make this particular format make business sense.
First, the tournaments will now have an open format. No horsepower restrictions, so long as they are compliant with the USCG. It's obviously the biggest change to next year, but it makes the most sense for all parties considered. The tournament operation will remain the same. Safe daylight to 3pm. No rigs. Qualification for the Classic hasn't changed from this year: 1) Top 50% in AOY, 2) Win one event and fish four others, 3) Fish all six events in your chosen series. Island Cove Outdoor Center is on board again for next year.
I'll get right into the schedule. They will be Sunday events this year. Not because I think they all need to be on Sunday (I've sometimes heard this called "the Sunday trail"), but because CFP will be extremely busy next year, and very few Saturday dates were available once all of the other major events, fishing and non-fishing, were considered. So Sundays won out. Additionally, there will be a second series out of Grasshopper Creek. I did this to make the tournaments available to a larger group of anglers, but still keep it "in house", so to speak.

AOY Fish-off
October 2015 (date, location TBA)
Now the Fish-off. Many of you know that there hasn't been any real reward for AOY. This is a step in the right direction. This year I will take the top 8 teams from each series and host a free entry, winner-take-all event for a $2000 cash prize. The twist: it will be a GoPro event. Each boat will have at least one GoPro camera (we'll try our best to provide cameras for those without one). The event will be a collaboration with an outside bait/tackle vendor that will be revealed at a later date. This will be made into a published, full video edit strictly for entertainment purposes. I'll post more details about the event at a later time.
To keep it simple, and until I can finalize the legal process of the name change, feel free to refer this as the "open series" for any forum chatter.
For everything else, keep watch on Facebook. I will still be keeping up the website, but at the new year the Godaddy website will disappear and will be replaced by the Wordpress website I built this year. Great job from my boys at V3 Media.
These tournaments are meant to be fun, so help me keep it that way. To clarify something, and I mention this every year, this is not a trail designed to compete with the CBA. They run, and will continue to run, the baddest event out there. As long as I can get away from Academy for a few hours you can bet Allen and I will be teaming up for some of their events. I've always wanted this to be something different. Tony Pardue built the concept and asked me to keep running with it. He's been like a father to me the last five years (Lord help him, lol) and I'm honored to keep this thing going.
Take care,
Jake
