I just wanted to give a quick bit of information on the Gen273 tournaments. The schedule is not ready to announce yet, but I can hit the highlights:

-Island Cove Outdoor Center is the primary sponsor. They've been on board since the very beginning.
-Held on Sundays. One each month of the scheduled season.
-$35 membership fee per angler
-$80 entry fee per team, per tournament. Includes $10 Big Fish.
-Classic 1st place prize is a boat/motor/trailer package. Provided by Island Cove Outdoor Center.

Changes:
-The Team of the Year points race will consist of ALL of the regular season tournaments, INCLUDING the Classic. That means that all teams can qualify (notice I still said QUALIFY) to fish the Classic. There will not be a points cut-off for the Classic. Furthermore, it means that the points champion will not be decided until the last day of the Classic. It's still no guarantee but I'm trying to finalize incentives for the points leaders, whether it's a Classic entry incentive, a paydown, or a no entry fee fish-off similar to the one done a couple years ago. The focus has always been just on the tournaments, however if the money is there I definitely want to try to reward the highest performers.

-**READ** There will be 5 total tournaments, including the Classic: 4 regular season events, 1 championship event. There will be no "drops" for points. In order to fish the Classic, you must fish all four of the regular season events. Each team is allowed one, and only one, tournament where they can pay entry and not fish due to any emergency or schedule conflict. This keeps it fair for everyone.

-The Classic 1st Place Prize, back by popular demand, will be a Tracker Boats Pro Team 175 boat/motor/trailer package, provided by Island Cove Outdoor Center. Over the past couple years we experimented with some different boats, but this one by far has been the most popular. Bottom line, for some of you it will make an awesome boat to keep, and for others it will make an easy boat to sell. Here's the boat: http://www.trackerboats.com/boat/?boat=3880

Other notes:
-Sundays: It is what it is. There is no room on this lake for another Saturday trail. Been that way for a while.
-Gen273 (the name): Also, is what it is. It's not sexy, it's weird to say. I get that. I needed to change it after the horsepower restriction was taken away. Genesis 27:3 kind of fit with the whole Sunday and outdoorsman theme, so I rolled with it. Maybe later as this thing keeps rolling we can work on it.
-Me. I'm fair, and easy to deal with. At least I think so. I like simple, and that's the way I keep the weigh-ins. You guys want to get out quickly after a long day on the water, and so do I.
-High-schoolers: I'm going to make it worth your time if you choose to fish with us. Stay tuned for more info.

I'll post again when the other details are finalized. Looking forward to another season and seeing some familiar faces, and maybe even some new ones. You're an awesome group of folks, and I always enjoy my time with you at the tournaments.

Take care,

Jake

Genesis 27:3 New International Version

Now then, get your equipment--your quiver and bow--and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

Now I get it. emoAngel Jmax
