The cool air felt great cutting across the lake this morning. Its October 1st and water temperatures are slowly dropping off with just a touch of fog on the surface of the water. Great time of year to be out on the water. Its just nice to be out there after the summer masses have left and everything is so peaceful.
Although the water temperatures have dropped over 10 degrees the past few weeks I am still finding crappie in the same types of places I was catching them during the summer months. One noticeable difference though is that the strikes are becoming a little more aggressive than before. There are still a few light bashful biters in the mix but as long as I can detect it well I guess I'm OK with that.
Did happen to detect about 35 of those bites or so this morning (A few of them very light) and landed only 32 of them. Seems a few fish always come unglued before making the haul back into the boat.
I'm guessing around 10 of those 32 were nice enough to make the team but all were released to swim until another day. Its a great time to be out on the water this time of year.
I'm posting a few pic of today's catch but also a short video clip of another short morning trip on Tellico for those interested.
