National Forest properties are marked well. There are thousands of acres from Taylors Ridge all the way over to Cohutta. I think you can get maps at the headquarters but not quite sure where it is. The places I go there is a service road that is gated at some point. From there is all walking or horseback on the trails. Villanow has some great places wether you want pine thickets, hard woods or heavy brush along creeks. You should be able to find whatever you need on line just google Georgia public hunting or national forest and that should get you started. You should also buy a WMA stamp on your license to hunt Pigeon Mtn. or some of the other areas when they're open. And to answer your question, yes. Just park and walk in. There is a big cluster of roads and land off of Hwy 136 from the top of Taylors Ridge until you get to John's Mtn. WMA.
