What kind of net are you guys using? I'd been using one similar to the one in pic NET-A ... it's pretty large, easy to use, but hooks get caught in it and sometimes if takes time to get the fish and hooks loose.... so, I tried the one in pic NET-B ... a rubber net. I haven't had a fish hook get caught in it, the fish that land in it don't flop around, smaller size fits better on the deck of my boat... overall seems better ... but, there are 2 disadvantages to this net... it's not as big around, and has a shorter handle, but the biggest thing we've noticed with it is that it has a LOT of drag in the water. The thick rubber netting makes it feel like a paddle pulling through the water when you attempt to land a fish. So far these disadvantages haven't cost me any fish... but, I was wondering what everyone else uses for bass fishing and the pro's/con's ... and where do you store it on the boat?

Cheers!

Mine looks more like Net A, I don't have lots of room for a bigger net so I have to compromize. I'd really like one with a longer handle and made of rubber as the hooks do get caught in the net. emoDoh

You need to discuss net selection with BentRod, he has had a bunch of them.

I use the rubber one it is collapseable(handle only) and fits in a locker. I put a little longer handle on it, I believe it is 40".

both...like you said, hooks don't hang up so bad in the rubber net and are probably kinder to the fish....but if you fish heavy current(tailraces) they make netting a fish MUCH tougher due to more resistance.

i bought one at jacks its not fully rubber but it is rubber coated so hooks dont stick up in it I really like it and it has a collapsible handle

I have one of each, but tend to take NET-A with me more often. NET-B seems a little too small for me and I think everybody has heard of my infamous "Tomahawk" net skills..... emoDoh Thanks AL....

The rubber one, hands down!!! With Adam's "Tomahawk technique", the added mass makes for quite a thunderous thud, as the edge of the frame strikes the pig, right between the eyes. The wake from this blow resembles the great Aquarium Destroyer doing 360's at Riverbend, while Willie's doing "Blue eyes cryin' in the rain"! Oh! and don't worry about getting the hooks caught in the net unless you're in mid-cast. Thanks Adam for this products review!! I thinK. Al

FRABILL!!!!!! its worth the extra dollar to get one of those with the nice lil hideaway handle that slides up in itself. the tough net material will keep hooks from getting twisted up in itself and give you more time fishing.

I have both and use them both. If I am fishing a tx I use Net A because of ths "drag" that you mentioned. If I am fun fishing then Net B.

Net B, but go with clear rubber instead of the black. It weighs less and is thinner so it moves through the water a little easier.
