it is getting that time of year. Me and my brother hung some tree stands last weekend. We are getting ready we start here in GA in a couple of weeks. My question is how much do you take scent control for granted. Me i dont we went on a big trip to KY last year and i seen alot more deer than my brother and my dad. I was wearing scent lok and scent blocker clothing they were not. I did get winded once but they got winded alot. They do all the right things for being scent free but i think the new clothing out is your best bet.

My philsosophy is that if a deer gets down wind of you, hes probably gonna wind you. That beeing said I like to stack the odds in my favor by wearing as much carbon as possible, and spraying down real good. Infact, if I use the atv. I wait till I get off of it to change into my hunting garb. I always wear rubber hunting boots. Wind is a deer's #1 defense. They smell stuff we cant imagine, so I think anything you do to eliminate smells will help. I also dont use much cover scent. I think scent free is better than the smell of a syntheticly developed fox pee! I cant wait either!

Nope, I use the "Artic Shield" Boot insulators. And if its real cold I'll stick handwarmers down in there. Those boot insulators cost about $40 and roll up to fit in a pocket. Lacrosse unisulated Grange boots cost $40. I have $80 invested in foot wear and I can wear mine all season, any weather. I a huge believer in rubber boots!!! I've had many deer come down my trail just minutes behind me! Leather, cordura, and other boot materials can hold on to those scents, where the rubber boots are scent free. Oh yeah, and you wont catch me at the gas station or hardees in my camo.

do you think that the scont lok and scent blocker clothing is to expensive or do you think it is worth the money

Worth every penny. Dont believe me. Zip up tight in your scent lock suit and Fart. As long as you dont open it-no poo smell. Now when you recharge the suit in the dryer, all of those absorbed smells get released- all the farts will run free! LOL!

Seriously, I dont think they cover everything but they do absorb most of the smells. I try to buy my carbon suits when they are on sale!

emoUpsmile emoUpsmile ...Churly...I gotta admit it...that has to be the funniest way I have ever heard of testing a scent lock suit. I agree with both of you and I wear mine religiously..wonder if thats why they dont smell mine when one slips out and I'm up in the tree.

And three words for a scent...Watkins Vanilla Extract!!! I put some on a scent wik and hang them in trees within 30 yards of my stand...the deer come in with there nose in the air and oblivious to me or my scent!!!
