Happy for the win!! You could tell from the start, that they out ranked the other team by far in playing ability. Tn. tech made some good plays , but not good enough for the vols. I think Butch Jones just about gave everybody a chance to get in a little play time. Heck I thought he might even give the water boy a chance to get in there. ha!!! ha!!! They done good and hope it lifts their spirits for the next game !!!!! :) :) :)

They played like a complete team. There was an energy that hasn't been there all year. Heck they even started fast. I was glad to see everyone get a chance to play for a change. As bad as I hate to say it, I think Hurd being off the team may be a good thing. After listening to what some of the players had to say, everyone knew he wasn't happy and there was a tension in locker room. I wish him well but I do believe he made a mistake. I would have played hard for the rest of the year and then turned Pro. I hope we play as a team for the rest of the year. If we do the Vols will be fine. GO VOLS!

Not trying to be jerk and get on the Tennessee fans but a question came up yesterday that I could not answer. Does anyone know if Kentucky and Vanderbilt has ever beaten Tennessee in the same year?

Not as long as I can remember and I am old. lol TN will have to play at an intense level to win out. KY and Vandy are playing much better than they did at the start of the season.

I'm a huge vols fan but I didn't get to watch Saturday since my wife allows me to fish anytime I want and then puts up with me stuck in front of the TV until after midnight every Saturday during football season I figured this would be a good weekend to take her out and also get over my extreme hate for Mike DeBored. I just hope he don't actually think his normal play calling will work in any of the games for the rest of the year expecially against a tough Vanderbilt defence coming soon. They really need to go back to the film room and look at what they did 2nd half of the Florida game most of the VT game and all of the A&M game and build of the success of those. I still think we have a strong shot of winning the east I think Florida has no hope against lsu unless they start handing out banned substances to one of their QB's again ?? but back to the vols let's hope they can win out and get a shot to play in the sec championship game and then find them a good offensive coordinator for 2017 and them we may finally have a team in the east that has a shot against the west!

I am not a DeBored fan either. I get BORED watching his play calling. As far as looking for a new OC. I wish they would hire Payton for the job and also let him be QB coach. Every 5 Star QB in the country would be lining up to get to play for him.

I agree with pretty much everything said here. Debord has got to go. I honestly believe I could do a better job of play calling than him. You can just about call every single play. Its the must predictable offensive play calling I have ever seen in my life. I do think Hurd was a cancer to the team, and now I am just praying Kamara comes back for one more year. He and Kelly would make the duo we thought we were going to have this year in the backfield. As for Payton I would love to see that but I don't know that Butch will let it happen. One thing I think we have all witnessed during Butch's tenure here is that he is a pretty arrogant guy and I am not sure that having someone like Payton that would overshadow him will happen. For Butch to take this team to the next level he has got have elite coordinators around him. Butch does a lot of things very well, but he is not a good gameday general. He needs excellent coordinators so that he can play more of a CEO role on gameday. He can recruit as well as anyone but I think makes a lot of suspect decisions over the course of a football game.

I don't think that Tennessee could pay Payton enough money to take that job! He has plenty! So why would want to give up his semi retirement life and go put up with 18 year old kids, the Vol Nation backers, media, work all those hours and be under 247 constant scrutiny of the Tennessee faithful arm chair QB's? When all he has to do is sit back and watch his money come rolling in from the Budweiser distributorships, Papa John's franchises, his NFL retirement, (I'm sure there are many more other investments) sign commercial endorsements and then attend a Tennessee game in his skybox when it's convenient for him?

I honestly don't know how well peyton would do as an offensive coordinator in college football. I think he would make an excellent QB coach and recruiting great quarterbacks would alot easier but with the way college football is changing your traditional style offense will not work without nfl talent at least 2 deep in every spot in your offence. That's why our offense is not productive now in a perfect world where everyone does their assignment every play then our offense would run flawless. But that's not the case expecially in college ball. You have to call plays that don't require that that only requires a few people to not mess up their assignment. And when something don't work you have to re evaluate and adjust quickly

As far as Manning taking the job and UT not having enough money to pay him. He doesn't need the job but he has said on more than one occasion he would love to come home to UT and be the QB coach some day. The University of Tennessee has really deep pockets and they view him as a gift from God. The boosters would pay any sum to get him. I really don't think the money would be an issue. He would do the job for less than most would think because he loves the game and UT. Saying you are not sure he would be a good OC is funny. He is a genius at reading a defense. If the defense has set itself, there is no one better at changing a play to shred that defensive set and he can do it faster than a computer. I do know this, he would be much better than what we have now. Recruiting would be much easier and the play calling would get much better. Just my honest opinion.
GO VOLS!!!!!!

i believe the cards are crumbling for butch. many articles say that he will survive the year due to not having an ad but I believe if he loses to ky or vandy he may be done. they regressed from where they were last year
