Tennessee has more turkeys now than ever before, I've been seeing many flocks of birds. This morning I located six mature longbeards.
That does not mean that they will be there come april 3. Has anyone been seeing birds? Its going to be a great season !!!!
Keep your eyes open for antler sheds!

Yup! Been seeing this flock off and on all winter.

I was seeing all kind of birds and many long beards but since the last snow, they have disappeared.
However I did go outside right at dark Sunday evening and hit the box call and one rattled of!!!!!!!
Getting fired up!
I walked back and put a little salt in my salt lick on Monday evening and low and behold there was one half of rack at my salt lick. My daughter was with me and she thought that was cool but she hasn't grasped the full concept of deer losing their antlers. I will take a picture of the rack. I believe I seen this deer a couple times during season but couldn't get a shot. I thought it was only a 10 pt but according to his rack, it would of been a 12.
I will spend a little more time back there soon and I would say we will find the other half of the rack.

Saw 2 gobblers fighting today. They are definitely firing up quickly with the warm weather.

Me and Faith have us a nice little honey-hole to go chase a few Thunder Chickens this year. We went and roosted them two nights ago trying to put together a game plan on them. Gonna be tough....this year we are going after them with the bows! Gonna try and Hoyt'em! I can't wait!

Do you use a gobbler Guillitine? broadhead. or regular broadheads aim for mid-section?

I'm glad yall will get to hunt. I will only be able to go once. The police academy starts the day after the opener and runs all the way through season. Go getem

We are going to use regular Muzzy MX3 broadheads and shoot for the vitals. We thought about trying the guillotines out, but decided to save the money and the time tuning those dad'gum helicopter blades on the guillotine.

Here is a really good diagram I found to study if you think about trying for them with a stick and string....Could be challenging hitting those small vitals on a strutting gobbler....

Just remember when shooting from the side not to shoot for that big plump area....a breast shot wont kill a dang thing. Better too far back than forward. Straight away and towards you are best.

Did some scouting today and found some birds. Backed out but going in the morning hoping to hear some gobbling. season starts this weekend in ga.

Hit it hard this weekend down here in GA. Me and Faith went both yesterday and today. Yesterday we located a bird on the roost, but he flew down away from us and we could never pick him back up. Today we went up on some Nat'l Forest land over on the mountain in Murray Co and fought the weather til about 10 and we couldn't take it anymore. We had one gobble, but the wind made it tough on us. Rain started moving in so we packed up and headed to the house. Hope our luck gets better soon...
