Just bought an older bassboat and going down the lake at say 25 mph and up the boat starts to lean to the left side and going faster only makes it worse .

If you let go of the wheel , it turns right . When you get the boat going straight , the motor is not ( looking back at it ) I'm thinking I need to fool with the tab just above the prop , can't remember what its called exactly .

If I'm leaning left , don't I click it a time or two right ?

Thanks in advance !

Its got the one , in the middle , if your looking up from the under the prop , its like a 3 or 4 inch in diameter "sundial" for lack of a better example hehehe . I remember messing with an older motor / boat before , but can recall which way I turned it to correct it .

It could be the tab..But that would cause your boat to pull but not necessarily to lean... Move it to near straight then go from there. I am pretty sure you direct it toward the way the boat is pulling.

The only other things that I can think of right now is that you could have all your weight too far to one side or either you have something creating drag on your hull. If you have a transducer on your transom make sure that it does not extend down more than approximately 1/8" below your hull line.
Do this, while your boat is on the trailer and on level ground, trim your engine down to where it is straight up and down. Turn your steering to where the engine is as straight as possible. Now stand out behind your boat and look and see that the motor is straight and not tilted on the transom. To double check this you can take a tape measure and measure to a distinct corner or something common to both sides of the boat from the bottom tip of your engine foot. If you have an adjustable jack-plate it could be out of balance.

I do have the 2 trolling batteries on the same side , just bought 2 20 pound anchors and stuck them on the same side , I gues I can swap them to the other side .

It ran fine when I tested it and just me in the boat ? It ran funky when I had a partner with me , so that'd put the extra 40 pds for the anchors AND 190 pound person .

Thanks again !

Mine dose the same thing if you are not on plane. I can ease over to a new spot (little over idle) and the boat leans left (BAD). Also coming off plane it tends to set down on the left rear corner first. I kinda like it so I'll leave it be.

The trim tab, (sundial looking thing) directly above the prop should be turned the same direction as the pull. If your boat pulls right, turn the little fin to the right, and it doesn't take much. But it may not have much affect on the leaning problem.

Trim it up. My Allison will lean bad if you dont trim it, and I have it balanced out pretty good. Easy way to tell how much trim the boat is wanting.

get you a prop with alot of cup in it even a 4 blade maybe something that will carry a good load adjust you torque tab and trim it my allison also does the same thing all boats will if you not looking for speed go with more cup in prop cause it helps lift the boat loose a little speed but will handle like a dream
