we fished about 4hrs today and landed around 65 pounds of good catfish. We were drifting off a hump that went from 18 to 58 ft. We were fishing with stink bait. 5 of them were over 10 pounds and we had a few that were 3-5 pounds. I had some really good pictures to post.....but the wife dropped the camera in the river....:(

Welcome and thanks for the report T-Rig! Glad you got on some fish and sorry to hear about the camera - I have nearly done the same thing...Were the bites coming shallow or deep?

Welcome t-rig and congrats on your first post. VERY sorry to hear about the camera however. :( I hope it was an exceedingly big fish or some other equally important reason that your megapixels hit the drink?

Oh - Oh ... good about the fish ... bad about the camera! Kind of hard to retrieve something in 58 ft. of water! I've lost poles like that. Now I know this sounds crazy .. but I forgot to open the bale before I tried to sling my lure out to never never land. I was surprised when the pole was abruptly sinking about 25 feet from the boat!! My husband .. who had lent me his ugly stick with a so called "really expensive" reel was a tad bit upset ...

No getting that one back ... I did that one other time only I didn't forget to release the bale before I tossed it ... I just lost hold of the stick. Luckily my lure choice at the moment was a floater. We just came back about 45 minutes later and found the lure floating on the water and wheeled in the pole. Kind of a backwards way of fishing for a fishing tool. Hahahaha .. I thought it was funny .. but again my husband did not.

Oh well ... so I'm sorry about your camera last thing you need to be doing is replacing stuff because of incidents. Seems like the tighter $$$ gets the more of those I have.

Did you keep your catfish?

TT
