What should you do if you find yourself in the awfull situation these poor guys did last night on the river with the swift current and the anchor down ? Ive not taken my boat out down there yet , i stay on the lake . I dont see any reason i would have the anchor since i fish for bass , but this being my first boat not sure what to do . My heart and prayers go out to these guys and their families . Thanks for any ideas guys

Some guys were on the river around the rivermont ramp I think , the news said with the current the boat a 15fter got unstable and as they were pulling up anchor the boat capsized . this a.m. they said 1 made it to the shore but 2 were missing

Its basically the same principle that happened with those football players, if your ancor is stuck and your going over, cut the line or the same thing will happen as the football players in the ocean and these guys.

I'll wager that by the time you realize you're capsizing, you won't have time to cut the anchor line.

Isn't this similar to what just hapenned to 8UP?

Wearing life jackets and have them fastened, and not being in the water after dark during flood conditions is the first rule.

on the river i wear my mustang auto pfd. not ever had to use it but just one time would pay for itself.
