My buddy's dog Max. This was his first goose hunt and only his 3rd hunt ever. He did excellent.

Total for the weekend was 8 birds with 5 bands. Hope to get out some more later this week.
Good luck!

I had two flocks come over this morning. They were small, only 7 or so birds per flight. I knocked feathers off the first group but didn't get any down. 10 mins. later the second group came over and I tagged the leader and de-feathered a few more. The nice thing was I didn't have to get the retriever(boat) out to pick him up. I just grabbed a fishing rod and made a cast over him and reeled in. Fishing and hunting on the same day is nice.

You boys are dressed awfully warm for the 80 degree weather we had last weekend.

So part of posting your pics on here is getting accused of stuff down the road...nice.

But yeah you're right, I guess running the boat down the river naked at 50 degrees in the dark would've been more fitting...give me a break. Thermometer read 48 when I got up so I grabbed a hoodie as I walked out the door.

Calm down. I was just trying to loosen this place up a little. I can tell its early season since there is still green grass everywhere. What kind of dog is that by the way?

That is Max the labradoodle. Only his 3rd hunt ever. He is shaping up to be a helluva companion.

Dude is that snow on the ground?

No thats called that white bubbly foam that packs up on the shoreline from all the boats running down the lake, wish it was snow though

I had goose for supper tonight. Dang it was good. I needed a couple to experiment with, but I think I have found away to cook them that has worked every time. Quite tasty!
