We hit the woods around 645 and it took no time at all to start seeing deer .As I was walking in the woods this morning walked up on 2 does got within 20 yards and they never knew I was there .I continued to see how close I could get before they realized I was there got about ten yards away before they bolted .pretty cool to be able to get that close. was able to get up in my stand about 20 min's later then 3 more does decided to come right up within 15 yards of the tree I was in. 15 min's later 2 more does came up with the first 3. about 45 min's later had 2 bucks show up one was a descent 8 pt and the other was a smaller 6pt. Great day to be in the woods even though I didnt take a shot I caught a glimpse of the one im after. He decided to give me a quick look of him before he headed back into the pine thicket emoBigsmile My botherinlaw did end up taking a nice 8pt a couple ridges in front of me.

Taking passes this year so far .. But this is opening day Bow season kill a couple years ago to show lease members that Deer are easy to harvest on the property. At 43 yds I could only see the Four points on the one side.. If I had seen only Seven points,especiallyon this young wide rack Deer,I would have allowed this young deer to pass....

They come very wide in my area... Can you believe this is only a four point.. A Kid shot it and I found it the next day spoiled and no good to eat. That kid and his family are no longer welcome here.

... look'in real good to me! Thanks! I haven't hunted in so many years, but you guys are throw'in a crav'in on me now! And I got a new 270 that I haven't even fired! I need to check my 30.06 and old Thomson percussion to see if they have dry rotted!? I just fish now, year round. Maybe after I retire. I'm so lazy now. If I shot one I'd have to drag it out and work it up!Aint that the pits?

Ill try to post some pics;

Those are a few bucks on the list and a biggun my buddy killed in franklin co. Last year. Those were the only photos on my phone small enough to download.

I found the best place ever on Prentice Cooper WMA yesterday. I was there at daylight this morning (Saturday) and pulled the trigger on the seventh Deer I saw in less than one hour. It is not my normal to shoot smaller Bucks.. However, This is a Bonus Deer that does not count State-wide and I have been out of Deer meat for three months. I had no choice. He was a Fat 5 pnt at 120 lbs.
