Got Illinois mount back today

I got a call last night from my taxidermist to inform me that my deer was ready to pick up!!
Attached is a pic of the 8ptr I killed during the 2nd firearm season in Clay county Illinois. Although he is not the brute Illinois is capable of producing, I am still very pleased to have finally taken an 8 ptr.

Very nice! We drove thru Illinois going to and from Missouri to bring our son home for Christmas. We really enjoyed it and thought what we saw was beautiful. It has become one of my favorite states to visit. I'm sure you have a great time hunting there. I have only hunted for quail. That was with my dad as a child. So I'm certainly not much of a hunter, but I think your mount is great. Congrats!

Nice buck Kathy. You have a great taxidermist to be able to get that deer back this fast. All the taxidermists around here take a year or more to get a deer done.

That is exactly what I was thinking. When I dropped mine off at the end of November, the guy said "see you in 5 or 6 months."

The taxidermist is local and she lives right up off of hwy 27 past the flea market between soddy daisy and bakewell. She has done deer for me for the past 5 or 6 years and I absolutely love her work not to mention her turn around time. She has quick turn around time cause once deer season starts she works 7 days a week 15+ hrs per day. I would highly recommend this lady to anyone.
Topwater-Doris did this one. I saw one of yours on the wall as well up there yesterday.
