...and it looks awesome! Thanks to my uncle Greg Thornton for the taxidermy work!

This is my new personal best Striper that I caught this spring on the TN River. I've been chasing a 30 lber for years and finally caught one that went 36 lbs!!! This was a very special fish to me because it topped any other Striper that we have ever caught in my family. We have chased them for years on the river and have several VERY nice ones to show for it, but this one takes the cake! I know Dad is smiling down on me for catching this one! He would have been proud!

DANG. Is that a fiberglass mount?

No sir, this one went to be with the Spirit in the Sky emoBigsmile

I was just going to say thats a heck of a job to be fiberglass. I would have done the same thing!

I thought about getting a replica, but I've only mounted one other Striper in my life and that was about 15 years ago. I hated to not let her spawn out, but after the fight that we had (and the intense celebration that ensued emobigsmile ), I figured that I had stressed her a whole lot and her chances of surviving weren't the greatest. Like I said, a 30 lber has been a dream for me from the Tn River for years, so there really wasn't much contemplation to be honest. She was going in the cooler.

The thing about a replica is anyone can get one made to their specs. With a skin mount you know it is exactly what you caught.
I respect the sporting aspect of a replica, but plenty of fish are being released and taking an ocassional trophy won't affect the population.
Beautiful mount Adam! I hope that plaque is screwed real good into a stud-otherwise that hawg will tear the wall down! emoToast
