Funds usually don't cause as much of a challenge as does the wife!!!emoHoppingmad Can you imagine the fit she'd throw if I walked in... "Hey HONEY! Come look in the driveway at what I got!!!!"
Skeeter07, its not too bad a job to do. I done mine in about an hour. The hard part was drilling the holes for the RAM mount. I mounted mine on a RAM mount and pulled my wires straight from the battery to the unit. I also use mine in the truck so I use the Lighter plug on the truck and hardwired mine in the boat. (It see's more time in the boat anyway). The RAM mount lets me turn it to the front while fishing and back to the console while running.
Its really a very simple job. Do spend the money for a good mount and you can pick one up at Sportsmans WHS for around $30-40. You might even find one at the boat show this weekend. If you have any problems I would be more than happy to walk you through it on the phone or in pearson. PM me and let me know.
I think I gave around $30 for mine. It had two bases and I mounted one on the boat and used the other in my truck. It worked out pretty good. Till I sold the truck
