I have had the Lowrance 332C for about 2 1/2 years now and no problems. Seems to stay hooked up with the satellites good and is very accurate . I also got the Mapcreate 6.3 and used the unit extensively in my truck on a 25 day trip thru the West a couple of years ago. Amazing the info in the Mapcreate.
The color sonar is the way to go. I have and older Low X-70 on the front of the boat and both units (332C is mounted in the Bilge / transducer area in my Bullet) are almost a perfect match on what you see on the screen when you pass over some structure or bait. But the color helps a lot in telling what you`re looking at.
For 650$ it`s apretty good system
I think the new models that are basically the same unit is a 520 somethin`.

I would have to agree with snuffy here. I have a lowrance 332c in the dash and just put a 520c in the bow because they quit making the 332. I believe it's the same unit just a newer version. They tell me to get an external antenna for better signal and less signal loss. I have never lost a signal with the 332c with external antenna. Cons:have to buy two mapping cards to get topo of lakes in AL and TN. Good Luck

I have a 520c in my boat and it has been relatively good. The only problem I have is its always off about 100 yards. It says im running up on the bank quite frequently. Humminbird has everyone beat hands down right now with the 787c2 and up.

emoScratch Wow james you pulled this threat out of a hat from 15 mos ago,I ended up with the lcx28chd and 520 on the bow and networked them,the detail is the best I have seen,ran h/b for 20 years and only reason i would go back if i won a SI from them,no problems and very accurate reading at high speeds and not the first problem out of them and fish about 4days a week,have fun and catch alot of fish out there.

so that means if you have 2 units you can link them together and use 1 card. I have a 520 on the bow and a just bought a 27 for the back. that will be nice if they use the same card

lowrance!! i think the only advantage to bus 2 units togther is to share 1 gps module {antenna}
you can add stuff to the bus, fuel flow meter, livewell temps ,engine info etc,the 2 units dont have the avaiblitily to talk to each other.

I just purchased the new hds7 insight and it I love it . All the lakes are preloaded in unit for the U.S. so the is no need to buy chip for areas in U.S. , unless you want what looks to be like a arial pic. on Navionic platium . Has internal antenna and haven't lost signal yet . Still learning all uses of unit , also lowrance is adding SI and is supposed to be out by the end of this year , just have puchase transducer and do a program update . Paid 1050$ for it at Three Rivers Marine .( www.threeriversmarine.net .), or call 1-888-549-8307 and ask for Justin , they are super nice people.

have had my 520c for about a year and a half and love it. if you belong to a club that is in the federation nation, you can call lowrance youself and they will discount about $100.
