After working perfectly for two years my lowrance 480 is giving me a message " GPS mode not responding" and I can't find in the manual how to address it. Any help would be appreciated.emoBang

My 480 is doing the same thing. DK suggested a fix in this post. I have not messed with mine yet, let us know if this works for you.</p>

go to Lowrance site and check for updates....may have had a change in the signal ....easy and they usually post notices for stuff like that
Plus they have the manuals for just about everything they make for download....easy !!

Update: My 480m was giving me a " module not responding" message, it would not aquire position and the depth was not showing accurate either. I had put it up and not even tried it in a while. Last Saturday I put it on, it locked on position but the depth was reading wrong. Tuesday it worked perfectly all day, except that the light blinks off and on. I can live with the light blinking like that. These units are great, I feel like they are very accurate with what your seeing. </p>

What seems to be the problem is that I always have another unit turned on near the GPS. Tuesday I didnt turn the other one on and it worked perfectly all day. So if your having these same type problems, turn off other electronic devices that may interfere with the GPS. </p>

Now if I go out tomorrow and the stupid thing starts acting up again I'm going to figure theres a ghost in my boat.</p>
