i am thinking of buying a new lowrance gps probably a lms-520. was just wondering on what some of you think is the best way to go for a gps unit..

and what all does it take to be able to link two units together so if you save a waypoint on one unit it will show up on the other as well.....

thanks.

I'm not sure what your question is. I have had that unit and liked it but I like the HB 787c2's way better. I don't know about linking. I have two 787's and I don't want them linked.

Have the lcx28chd and a lms520 networked together ,put them on this year and love them have had no problem with them and the color screen is the way to go,the 520 came with the basic map but you will need a card for detail, the 28 came preloaded with all the maps in it,if you want to look at my set up just pm me and you can come over sometime

i got two 520s and they are linked. if u dont link them u cant share waypoints between the units. that makes it kind of hard to find small things, like brush piles, etc. just out of curiosity, y dont u want yours linked lance? if money was an issue i would buy one now and put it at the console and save up money to buy one to go up front. i love mine. cant speak for the hb's as i havent had one, but their side imaging is awesome. i heard lowrance is coming out with a side imaging unit next year. dont know if there is any truth to it. but thats another story.

dang lance, u must be reading the exact same things i am on bbc. i read somewhere a few months back that lowrance was going to have a new side imaging unit at the icast, but maybe u cant believe everything u read on the internet. lol. out of curiosity why dont u want your units linked? also how did u do on friday night on nickajack. i fished with your buddy kevin. we had about 12 something lbs. not good enough to win, but like third place. i am up at ky lake working right now.
