How is the grass looking on the chick right now? I will be going out this Sunday and was wondering if I should prepare to punch some grass. Thanks!

I know around HBSP, I'm having a hard time finding a lot of weed. I'm hitting patches and bringing it up on my bait. Certainly doesn't look like it has topped out yet.

Gotcha... I was hoping it was getting thicker by now. I am ready to start punching it.

No where even remotel close to punching yet. Ive not seen anything other than duckweed toped out. At least another month. Mild temps, high, colorred water slows the grass down.

I hear ya. Thanks for the input! I am just hoping this rain doesn't turn the fish off this weekend.

I live in Kingsport and me and my brother have only been bass fishing for the last 3 years now - both addicted lol. We traveled last year and fished the Chick 3 times, twice in the spring and once in mid October and love that lake. Oct was the first time we had ever frog fished grass mats and it was awesome. We've already made plans to hit it again this year about the same time. You guys know the history of this lake very well and I'd like to know in your opinion if the mats will be on par this year with at least what they were last year Oct? Thanks
