Launched a little before daylight and eased my way across to th mouth ofSale Creek. I have never fished this area. I started out with a Sammy and Spinnerbait with no takers. Once it was daylight enough for me to run I moved back into the creek past the bridge. Fished in there til around 10:30 with no takers. I then moved out to a main river ledge (I need lots of practice at offshore structure fishingemoBang ) with no luck. I then moved to a strectch of grass north of Grasshopper and tried a Zoom Horny Toad. I land 2 LM(13-14 inches each). I worked my way upriver picking up a Spot(14.5 in) off of some riprap with the toad. Finished up the day on a bluff wall catching a SM (13 in) and another Spot (13 in) both on a MAG II worm in watermelon. A fun day in all but where are the keepers??? emoScratch

Thanks for the report JDEES. The back of Sale has been cold for me this year the few times I've fished it, so it's due for a few good days ... could happen when the temps drop a little.

Anyone got any ledge tips they will share. I don't want your honey holes... just need a tip that will get me some confidence in offshore fishing. Any help is appreciated.

This has been my experience on hump and ledge fishing and I am no expert. When there is current it seems like the fish will move up on the hump or high side of a ledge to feed, when there is no current they either suspend or go a bit deeper. I like to find some type of cover on the structure, even if I don't see fish on it. I also fish humps differently than most people, I like to get near the top of the hump, drop a bouy and cast to deeper water. That way if I'm fishing a C-rig it's digging as it comes up. I use the bouy just to mark my position, not the cover or stucture. Again, I am no expert and there are some other guys on here that will probably chime in with some good tips.
