I'm coming down this weekend to visit some family and thought I would bring my boat with me. I usually put in a grasshopper but not this time of year. Can someone let me know if it is safe to put in there or not? Didn't know what the water level is doing down there.

I ran from back of sale creek to back of chester frost and it took 18 mins just watch when coming out of grasshopper if you have gps with a lake map you will be ok it gets kind of shallow there there is a rock poin on your right then ive always heard there is a big stump out there as well but never seen or hit it just go slow and watch you depth finder till you get in the lake you will be fine or if you put in about the same time as someone who is out there a alot just ask if it be ok if you follow them out .

Warning!!!! The ramp at Grasshopper is great. Just be careful when you head out of the creek. Make sure you stay in the creek channel all the way out to the river channel. If you miss the creek channel you can tear your boat up. There is a gravel bar on the upstream side of the creek and big stumps on the edge of the creek on the downstream side of the creek. Good luck with the fishing.

Like BTJ said be Very careful going out the mouth of the creek, the left of the channel is a major stump row, at winter pool the stumps are just under the water. The upstream side is not as dangerous, but if your not familiar with the channel, idle out almost to the red channel marker. Good luck !!

That area on both sides of the creek channel where the stumps are and the rocks have been solid spots for catching fish for me when I am up the river. One of my best days ever was sitting right there.

Got me a little nervous guys lol. I may just troll and fish my way out. I have two hds gen 2 units with lake insight but no map card. tI usually marks the river channel pretty well and all the river markers. Wish me luck.
