I noticed a greasy spot in my garage where my boat sits . It must have just started. It looks like it is coming from the prop area. I pulled my prop off and noticed quite a bit within the unit. I always maintain my boat according to factory guidelines and keep the boat inside. Any ideas or suggestions.

IF YOUR RUNNING A 2-STROKE ENGINE THERE WILL USUALLY BE A SMALL AMOUNT OF UNBURNT OIL IN THE EXHAUST GASES AND IT WILL COLLECT IN THE EXHAUST PATH AND SOMETIME A LITTLE WILL RUN OUT ...MOST ENGINES EXHAUST AT LEAST SOME OF THERE GASES THRU OR AROUND THE HUB OF THE PROP ....THIS WILL USUALLY BE REALLY BLACK.....UNLESS YOUR FOOT OIL IS REALLY OLD IT WILL BE MORE CLEAR IN COLOR.......

I had this exact same thing happen to me. Greasy spot on the garage floor. Found out had some line that ate into the prop shaft seal.

Exactly like Snuffy said "THERE WILL USUALLY BE A SMALL AMOUNT OF UNBURNT OIL IN THE EXHAUST GASES AND IT WILL COLLECT IN THE EXHAUST PATH AND SOMETIME A LITTLE WILL RUN OUT ...MOST ENGINES EXHAUST AT LEAST SOME OF THERE GASES THRU OR AROUND THE HUB OF THE PROP ....THIS WILL USUALLY BE REALLY BLACK.....UNLESS YOUR FOOT OIL IS REALLY OLD IT WILL BE MORE CLEAR IN COLOR"

When people ask me about liquid or grease being on their garage floor I tell them it is either unburnt exhaust or leaking seal(s). The easiest test is to drain your fluid and look at it. If it looks milky you've probably got a small leak, If you've got pure water probably a big leak. Hopefully you don't have a leak at all though.
