Went out yesterday morning(11/26/12) to try and catch one of the big boys I've seen chasing does. Ok, actually I overslept and didn't get into my stand until 0830. After worrying about what first light action I may have missed, I finally settled in and started to somewhat focus on what I was doing. At 0900, I heard walking in the leaves to my left about 100 yds and spotted a lone mature doe walking steady down the ridge. After watching her for a while, I determined she was alone and decided to use the doe tag. I shot her with the 7mm mag and after a short run she went down. I continued to sit in the stand not expecting much. I even talked to 'Pumba'(Scott Powell) on the phone and while we were talking another doe walked along the same ridge as the first. A few minutes later a heard a commotion to my right and a buck chasing a doe came running wide open into a draw to my right and were out of sight before I could even tell how big he was.
Then about 30 min. later, I saw movement to my right again and this time it was a doe standing still with a 10 pointer moving in on her! I could hear him grunting and when he stepped towards her out of the thick stuff I fired on him at about 110 yds. He took off down the draw and up onto another ridge. After a while Scott arrived and after a short track we found the nice buck piled up! Needless to say it was a great morning to be out! I don't think there is a bad time of day to be out there at all right now emoBigsmile
