The Yellow Jacket open had a small tournout but the kids fished very hard in windy tough conditions. Hank Lowrie and Dakota Cantrell took first for Grundy Co with 4 fish for 15.52. Hank had a 5.63 for big fish and another at 5.38 to anchor the sack. Dalton Summers (who fishes sometimes with CBA) and Tyler Akin were second with 4 fish for 13.12. Those two are from Sequatchie Co but they're on the Grundy team because Sequatchie doesn't have a team. Charlie Young and Austin Brown from DeKalb Co were third with 2 for 4.24. Eldon Posey and Zach Sanders took 4th with one fish for 3.13.
The top 4 teams got plaques. The winning team got a plaque for their school. Big fish got a plaque all sponsored by Mike's Pharmacy in Tracy City and made by Mr. Barry Rollins of J-R Productions in Tracy City. All fishing got a tackle pack from Assassinator Baits and Mr. Jake Davis - Mid South Bass Guide. First through third place teams got prize tackle packs from the GCHS Bass Boosters and Outdoor Junction in Cookeville. Big fish winner got a Lew's rod and reel from the bass boosters and Lew's. There was also a Lew's rod and reel draw prize won by the DeKalb Co team.
Grundy will host the high school teams again April 20, on Nickajack at Shellmound. If you have high school teams that are interested have them contact me.
