Well, its finally over! Have I ever told anyone on here how bad I hate grass fishing? emoLaugh Anyway, its a little on the late side but heres the way it went.

Fished Wed and got down there about 6am. Went looking for some of the places we had found on the map and from info I had got from some of the guys.
Want to say Thanks to Brandon and to Mitch for the info. We looked and fished till about 2:30 pm. Started at the state park and found some humps I was looking for. Nothing there. Found some places on up the lake above Waterfront. Nothing there. Finally got on a grass line out on the channel and caught a few fish. Got them on a fluke and a crankbait.

Started the tourny early at 6am eastern time. Fished one of the ditch lines we had found and my partner got a 5.75# on a buzzbait. Then I finally caught one about 3.5# on it. He caught another one that was a keeper and thats it for the day. Sun came out and the shoow was over. Couldn't buy a bite from a bream.:(
Went to the weigh in at 2pm and heres the final tally.
1st palce had over 18 #
then there was a 15 and a 14 and 12 lbs bags. We had 11 something in 3 fish and was glad to have even caught some.
The guys that took first and second place fished the river channel and had their fish in just a couple of hours. All or most all of them on buzzbaits. Soon as the sun came out it was over. Just one ever now anfd then.

Went back Fri morning and came out of Goosepond again and fished the river channel ourselves. Had a couple of 3 # and some good solid keepers. Wish I could of had during the tourny. All on a jerk worm and fluke. Throw to the grass line and work it really slow back to the boat. ( I hate grass) They seemed to be hanging just on the edge of the drop.

Good report, Fisherpal. Sorry that you didn't catch more. I'm like you and don't like to fish grass, or mow grass either for that matter.

I knew with the bluebird sky and the cold front that passed through last night that it would be tough today.

With the conditions being what they were, it would be hard to get them on perch colored hand grenades.

Here is a couple of pics from Friday after the tourny. You can see a little grass topping out in the 2nd pic. The grass is topped out in Crow creek and Mud creek pretty good. The grass is just making it out on the channel.
