Well to sum up both trips this weekend was not my best to catch a fish. I went with a good friend of mine to Guntersville on Saturday morning. We were prefishing some for a club T next weekend and the lake was awful. I haven't had much luck down there at all but we got two bites apiece and neither one of us got a fish in the boat. We were fishing the south end of the lake and just about all the grass had been sprayed. Some of it had been earlier in the year and it was grown back in but a lot of it had been in the past two months and it was gone. We threw just about any bait you could and it was like a dead sea. I have heard of a few guys catching fish down there but just about everybody is saying it has been the worst they have ever seen it.

Then I went to the Chick today figuring it would be tough as well with the clod front and the fishing pressure from the BFL this weekend and I was correct. We put in at Soddy creak in the afternoon and went to a few spots around that area and I didn't catch a fish all day. We found plenty of bait fish in the back of a few sloughs but we couldn't buy a bite from them. I tried a buzz bait all the way to a worm on the bottom and didn't get much. I did have a few hits on a rattle trap type bait but it came off when I was reeling it in. My dad ended up with 3 small bass and they all came on a small crankbait near the ramp.

Overall it was a really tough weekend and I should have just slept in on Saturday. emoLaugh

I think that it was a good weekend to fish deep and slow with little baits. I'm sorry to hear that G'ville was so barren. That's really a shame. I wonder if TVA will deny knowing who did it and why? That really stinks!

TVA didn't do the spraying this time but most of the docks we found had been sprayed. There was still some grass to be found but nothing like it has been in the past.

That was a typical day for me on Guntersville but for Brad it was an awful day. I have never been down there when they were biting well. I hope it picks up Saturday or I might take a nap during the T. emoLaugh
