My partner and I went down wednesday to prefish for out TX on thursday. The weather was pretty bad to say the least. We boated quite a few fish on sinkos and dingers, but they werent interested in anything else. Had some boat trouble as well, due to the wind and my driving. A trolling battery tipped over, breaking 2 aereator pumps which resulted in the boat taking on a good bit of water. I also lost my back seat, I guess us getting airborn had nothing to do with that. We limped back to waterfront and replaced the what we needed to for thursday. Thursday morning, the wind wasnt too bad and it was quite pretty outside, lows 40s. Launched about 5:50 AL time and we headed to our first place. Boated a keeper (2.6lb) on the second cast w/ a watermelon yum dinger t-rigged. Since the sun was already on another one of our spots, we decided to head over there. Boated one about 2lb on a brushhog in about 15 mins. We decided to hit our first spot again and pulled one out a little over 3lb. We knew we hadnt hit our best spot yet, so we thought maybe we had a shot for a win. So we headed to our best spot, the 30 mph wind insisted that we didnt stay there long. We hit it with traps for about 20 mins with no fish. After fighting the terrible wind, we decided to just find a cove out of the wind and try for a limit, well that didnt work either. We ended the day with 8.1 lbs in 3 fish. We had 12 boats show up and only 4 people weighed something.
1st- Steve Smith/ Brandon Jones (20lbs) 5 fish
