Guntersville 8-5

Well made it to land of the grass saturday and man was it tough. The water was up about a 18 inches above full pool, blue bird sky ,and high pressure resulted in not to many fish. Managed 2 fished for 6.5 lbs. The first fish came on an ol monster worm in 6-8 feet of water. The second fish was caught on a Fat boy crank (yellow) on a grass ledge. The fish hit it the first time and knocked the bait sideways, the hooks were all tangle in the line when i got it back. I threw back in and he hit it, but was hooked in the top of the head. Threw the crank and the blade in several times with several more strikes, but no hook-ups. Threw the worm and swim baits with no takers or strikes. Never really seen the fish act that way on guntersville. Something has them all messed up, even the guide reports have shown though fishing.

I did however have two nice strikes on the rat. I believe this may be an excellent fall for rat fishing and frog fishing. What is yall's thoughts on a mid-fall Guntersville frog feast.emoScratch

Great Idea! But no later than mid Oct., I'll be in the trees in Nov. I would love to get in on a frog bite!

I dont know just some ideas...I mean we got "Crackerfest" to work...

Badbass all you need to do is post it and they will come. Bprice has hosted one, so he can help you get things going. Check the big orange schedule and see if we can schedule a weekend in Early October.

I am disappointed in you Bprice, did not place you for a big orange fan, unless you mean the orange and blue from LA (lower alabama). I don't think a conflict with a vol game would make much of a difference if they have a season like last yearemoPoke . Now wait,, don't hang me yet Vol fans, yall are at least better than Florida fans. WAR EAGLE!!!

I am glad to see interest in this. Let me check football schedules, for Auburn, Alabama, and the Vols, along with possible hunting dates and see what we can come up with for FROGTOBERFEST.

I love the frog bite on the G in the fall ... but only on Sunday. 24 days 'til the Tide takes the field and I'm officially out of commision on Saturdays until Nov 25. Don't plan this thing around anybody though. If you've got a date, post it and those that can make it, will.
