Got on the water around noon Saturday. Man is it tough! And, it's especially tough when you miss the morning bite. I caught 2 fish in the 7 hours I fished Saturday. 1 keeper on a snag proof frog and 1 non-keeper on a carolina rig. I found quite a few active areas but with the high bright skies they just would not bite an artifical bait. I don't know wether to down size or keep moving and hope for the best.
The Snag Proof tournament, which I didn't end up fishing, was won with a 3 fish limit of over 14lbs. Only snag proof products were allowed to be used. I don't know who or how. That weight is not real good for Guntersville and it shows that is still pretty tough out there.
Sunday my dad and I fished up river mainly fishing frogs in shallow grass. We had 3 keepers in the morning, one 3.5# on a horny toad, and 2 15"-16" keepers, one on a SP frog and one on a Spro frog. After that it was extremely difficult to even get a sniff from a bass. I think all the pressure is really getting to these shallow bass. Plus, tva backing the water up every weekend is not helping the grass fish. Maybe cutthroat can help me find some fish Friday during my practice for BFL choo-choo super tournament.
