Guntersville 9-21-06

JSB and I took the day off and fished the G with Our buddy TJ. He's been fishing Guntersville for years and knows the lake very well. I ended the day with 4 keepers but no real size to them. TJ caught only 3 but they made up a sack of 17 lbs. including the largest that's pictured. We estimated it between 7 1/2 and 8 lbs. All of our fish were caught on grass edges and scattered grass. Swimming a 10" worm was the lure of choice today. All of our biggest fish came in the middle of the afternoon in 8-12 ft of water. I hope this pattern remains for the weekend. If this keeps up, I'll have to move Guntersville off my list of most hated lakes.

My EYES!!! Thats TJay ~ If you let him fish he'll wax ya!! Been there got the T Shirt . I was stupid enuf to give him the front of my boat on a smallmouth trip I took him on. NEVER AGAIN!! ~~ Glad you went out with Troy. He's a top notch guy!!

I call dibbs on TJ as my partner for the next CFF Guntersville TxemoBigsmile. As long as he has a boat and needs a partner, that is. All the bass, not just the big one, look very fat and healthy.

Going down there myself next friday, what flavor were they chewing on, and were you pulling it close to the bottom or swimming it about half the depth of the grass. Where did you guys put in at? Good post and a nice flash on the fish.
