It was a messy day on the lake today. I fished with a 3/4 ounce rattle bait to try to get quality bites. It seemed like the fish were "swatting" at the bait. I hooked at least 4 fish that just pulled off.

I wound up with 3 for 12 pounds even. That put me in 90th place. I didn't have one big fish all 3 of them looked like they could be twins (or tripletts).

There were fifteen 20 pound bags on the boater side. The winner had 26 pounds.

Co Angler winner had 33 pounds 9 ounces.

There were boats everywhere. If you left your area it would be filled with 2 boats immediately. 200 BFL boats, several clubs and the BASS weekend series on the lake.

OH AND IT TOOK 16 POUNDS 6 OUNCES TO GET A CHECK ON THE BOATER SIDE.

Nice report ... sounds like you needed to take a number to get in line to fish the G that day emoTongue

I talked to the boater that co-angler caught the 33lb.9oz. out of his boat. The boy is 17 years old,his first tournament and prior to that day his biggest fish was 5lb.(he caught two over eight and also won big fish!)

They had the same problem with fish slapping at the rattle trap,so the co-angler tied on a small chartreuse/black crank bait, by the description I got it was simular to a wee-r.

I fished roseberry all day the boats were constantly in and out of there. It just wasn't my day I only ended up with one keeper a little over 2lbs and it came off a fallen tree on a jerkbait. With 45 minutes left to fish I hooked a monster of a fish I had never seen before. It had to be 15 lbs, long like a carp, with a fin over a foot long on its back and teeth. I peeled line like crazy and took me a bit to get it in the boat. Someone said it was a mud fish if you ever heard of that.
