Guntersville Just for Fun 3-18-2007

Fished Sauturday at the big "G" just for fun. Winds were rough but we did alright. We caught a total of 7-8 bass. The best 5 were around 16-17lbs. Caught the bulk in Coon Creek. My partner had a double on the front hook of a chrome and blue trap. One fish was 3 1/2 the other was 2 1/2lbs. He thought he had a hog. My biggest fish was around 4lbs. It was tough in the wind. The interesting thing was most of the fish came at the front of the slough at the drop off. My partner had found them once before and decided to stop and drop shot a trap at the entrance to the slough. We caught around 5 keepers doing this and missed about 5 more that came off the trap. Then the wind pushed out out and we move on. We stopped back on the way off the lake but could not hold our position so we went to the house.

Good report. I never thought of drop shotting a trap. Thanks for the info.

Can't believe two quality fish one on Trap, and you actually got them both in the boat. That's cool.

Great report. Sounds like alot of fish atr still in trasition. The Bg "G" is only going to get better for the next several weeks. Thanks for the rport Dr D
