How far is mudcreek from the nickajack dam?

About 30 miles. I locked through from the Nick and ran to it durring the tn/coosa TX. It wasn't too bad. Seems like it took about 30 minutes to run.

how is the fishing at the top end of the lake? Since I am going to have an alabama license this year I need to plan on getting some use out of it.

I think Doc1 fishes there quite a bit. I've been told it's pretty good for some big spots and smallies.

From Nickajack Dam down to BB Comer (about 35 miles of lake) can be just as fantastic down lake... </p>

Let me know when you want to come down and we can make a weekend of it, if your wife will let you </p>

upper end can be great and is vastly underfished !!!!!

I completely agree with SeqBass, it is underfished (except for those few acres in Mud).  Jones Cove is dynamite.
