Well, I camped down on Guntersville from Sunday through Wednesday. I caught exactly one legitimate keeper bass, one short, and one that was a keeper but was foul-hooked. Plus two short crappies. The only consistency was that all were caught on small lures, 4 lb line.

The only comments I heard were negative, although there were a ton of fishermen out.

I fished deep, shallow, in between. No luck. It was good to get away for a few days, but a hot bite would have made me happier...

I know what youre talking about.I went Tue.thru Thur.and the rattle trap on flats and spinnerbait bite was totally off.My buddy and I decided to do something different ,so we started skipping brushhogs and cut tail worms under docks. It payed of somewhat. We caught lots of 2s and several 3s but thats the best we could do.We where disappointed that we didnt get the big boys but,we salvaged a trip to the G ,that could have been alot worse.Iam still looking foward to heading backdown,to bust some big G Hogs....................

I threw 1oz.&1/2oz.burnt orange rattle trap and gold 1/2oz.trap.The colors of rubber that work for us was like a green color with gold flake. That was both the cut tail and the brushog. The bite was pretty good with those colors.
