I sure wished we were in a tournament today!!!! Tarhell and myself did not get enough of the Big G last week on the CFF3 and decided to go back today.
Started off slow up in Crow Creek and only managed two, one was a keeper at 16 inches. We decided to go to where CCSM and I had left off last week where we had found spawning bass but ran out of time and had to leave them. The area is a big flat off the main river that goes back into an area covered with moss, weeds and shall we just call it "stuff".
I wasn't sure they would still be there since the water temp had dropped from last week at 64.8 to today of 57.1. It did not take long to find out. Within the first 30 minutes I hooked up with one on a trap that would go 4+ but it came off by the boat. The next one about 15 minutes later parted the lake right next to the boat sending water all over it but it missed the buzz I was using. emoBang Now I know what you are thinking a story of the big ones that got away, right???? Wrong,...the next one blew up on a buzz and I had to bring it through a bunch of stuff but it stayed on, 6lbs, 11ozs.emoEek
We proceeded to catch over the next two to three hours eight more good bass of which we had a 5lbs 8 ozs and a 5lbs 4 ozs. The best five bass we boated today weighed in at 23 lbs and 6 ozs.
emoWorthy
We took pictures however we haven't figured out how to get them on the sight yet. I will send those later. the water while we were there started at 57.1 degrees and when we left was 58.6 degrees. It was fairly mud stained water and the average depth was 2 to 3 feet. The best three baits today were the lizard, a buzz bait and a trap. We had planned to go to where Tarhell had his quide show him but we never made it.emoBigsmile Just could not leave those big females that CCSM and I had found last week. That was a lot of fun, I am already ready to go back.emoToast Jmax
