I sure wished we were in a tournament today!!!! Tarhell and myself did not get enough of the Big G last week on the CFF3 and decided to go back today.

Started off slow up in Crow Creek and only managed two, one was a keeper at 16 inches. We decided to go to where CCSM and I had left off last week where we had found spawning bass but ran out of time and had to leave them. The area is a big flat off the main river that goes back into an area covered with moss, weeds and shall we just call it "stuff".

I wasn't sure they would still be there since the water temp had dropped from last week at 64.8 to today of 57.1. It did not take long to find out. Within the first 30 minutes I hooked up with one on a trap that would go 4+ but it came off by the boat. The next one about 15 minutes later parted the lake right next to the boat sending water all over it but it missed the buzz I was using. emoBang Now I know what you are thinking a story of the big ones that got away, right???? Wrong,...the next one blew up on a buzz and I had to bring it through a bunch of stuff but it stayed on, 6lbs, 11ozs.emoEek

We proceeded to catch over the next two to three hours eight more good bass of which we had a 5lbs 8 ozs and a 5lbs 4 ozs. The best five bass we boated today weighed in at 23 lbs and 6 ozs.

We took pictures however we haven't figured out how to get them on the sight yet. I will send those later. the water while we were there started at 57.1 degrees and when we left was 58.6 degrees. It was fairly mud stained water and the average depth was 2 to 3 feet. The best three baits today were the lizard, a buzz bait and a trap. We had planned to go to where Tarhell had his quide show him but we never made it.emoBigsmile Just could not leave those big females that CCSM and I had found last week. That was a lot of fun, I am already ready to go back.emoToast Jmax

Jmax, since our tournament I have looked at the maps of Chickamauga way up north and would expect that there are similar waters that are very similar to the area that you were catching those fish in on the G. Does anyone know if the shallow areas in the very northern reaches of the Chick have any grass in them and if so, do they hold spawners? It's great to hear that the fish are still in the area. Good bag guys.

I bet the pm's were flying around on this threademoPoke

Yes, they are but I am having one of polo's selective memory loses. I can't seem to remember where exactly we caught those fish, I have already forgotten.emoBigsmile Jmax

By the way I tried to download the pics of a couple of the bass we caught and my pony express computer said it did not have enough soemthing or another to do it so CCSM has them and said he would down load them for me tonight. That one that is 6-11 looks like it is 12 in the picture. I think it must be growing.emoLaugh Jmax

Senior moments are all too common around here. I remember where the fish are Jmax but your secret is secure with me. I wish that I could get down there sometime and try them out but I would rather try to find similar areas on the Chick and see if they are just as productive.

Here are the pics!!!

Tarheel got so excited about this 6-11 he had to have one of him holding it also. He makes this fish looks huge. No trick photo there, just looks big.

This is the same one 6-11, I am such a... shell we say healthy boy it doesn't look as big.

This one was tarheel's biggest at 5-4. If you look real close you can read it on the scale sreen.

All very nice bass and all three of these I believe were females with nice potbellies.emoTongue Jmax

Jmax I don't blame you or Tarheel either one for wanting a pic with those fish. Nice string a fish. I kinda have the same problem with fish when pics are made. I'm just a lil bigger than normal folks and they look small up side a me. emoRedface Of coarse you can say what I do to everbody. I ain't fat just a lil fluffy.emoLaugh
