My son and I went out this morning . We were easing down the banks and was coming up on a small tree laying in the water . My son said he saw a Bass swim near the tree. We were coming to it and saw a gar swim thru the tree. My son said that wasnt the fish he saw . He was certain it was a Bass. We came to the tree and there it sat in the limbs. We flipped our lures in there. Took a couple of tries and then I put mine right in front of his face . He slowly took it . I set the hook too soon and it just slid out of his mouth . He looked at my sons but never made an effort to get it. I put mine right back in his face and he took it again , this time moving just a bit . I once again set the hook and again tooo soon. He then swam down and we could not see him anymore. I was sooo disapointed. I told my son he was gone and lets move on. I figured 2nd time I felt him and he did not want anymore. My son said no , he might still be there . So I said ok we will go again , not seeing this Bass. I flipped my lure to the back of the tree and was reeling it towards the front where the limbs were at. As my line pulled my lure up towards a limb , There he was following it really fast . As my lure went up and over the limb , he went under it and met the lure on the other side . He grab it and took a sharp turn down to the right . I gave more time , and set the hook to the left. I had him on , yessssssss. My sons yelling I will get him . I reeled him close to my son . LOL , my son grabbed him at the belly, ( dont know why ), He slipped thru my sons hands. I thought , oh no my son was going to lose him. I brought him back to my son and this time he grabbed the mouth . YEAAAAA I had landed my best Bass ever. As my son pulled him out , the hook fell right out of its mouth , lol. I weighed it on my buddies old set of scales, not digital , And it said 4 to 4 1/2 pounds. Man that made my day. I was using a pumpkin brush hogg , water temp was around 83 , he was in about 5 foot , and it was around 11:30 this morning , it was cloudy , water was more clear than normal. Man Bass fishing is awesome!!!!!!!
