On opening weekend of muzzle loading had someone come on our club and pour corn out in front of 11 stands and then called the game wardens. I was lucky and was still hunting in Ohio, but my hunting partner wasn't. He lost his gun and got a ticket. I went out tuesday when I got back and picked up 400 pounds of corn. Anyone ever had this happen to them?

Sounds like you have someone that wants your lease. That is a sneaky way to get rid of you guys. emoMad Do you know of anyone that would be that bad as to do that to get you guys in trouble?

That crap is exactly what I don't like about our current "baiting laws". All it takes is for some bonehead to buy some corn and they can get a bunch of hunters in trouble. This could be anyone from a disgruntled lease member to a PETA activist.

What are you doing with the corn? It is legal in Arkansas to hunt over a baited field, you want it off your hands I would be glad to dispose of it for you. emoBigsmile Jmax

I do know this much if i went and climbed a tree before lite and someone put corn out the evening before and i got in trouble for it i would definitley have a lawyer when i went to court, from what i can tell about game wardens in my opinion alot of them seem to be overactive on the corn issues and not enough on poachers and spotlighting deer, just my two cents nothing more.

I would go to court also. Surely a good lawyer could find out just WHO MADE THAT CALL!

When it is that blatant of a violation, I would get TWRA involved to assist you in protecting your property. Go to court in defense of your member with evidence of the massive amount of bait and plead your case. That is a very sad thing to have to deal with. What county is your lease in?

Sorry to hear about that.
Unfortunately it is a problem we face on the lake as duck hunters as well. Crazy PETA folks go about pouring corn on the bank and then call the game wardens.

If anyone is out fishing this fall/ winter and sees such activity, please report it

WOW! I have called and complained to TWRA for various things over the years and several times for poaching and tresspassing and when I call, the first thing I am asked is what is my name and number. They should have a good idea of who called.

Sounds to me like someone wants you guys gone! If that happened on my property, I'd be ready to shoot somebody!

My way of thinking...it's somebody you know. It had to take time to find 11 stands and bait them. I hope that you find out who they are.

i cant think of a sole on our club that would do it but it may be someone wanting our lease.I have called the game wardens and their supervisors and the say its unfortunate but it up to me to find out who put it out and if i get proof they will prosecute them but i have to have the proof. they said its not illegal to put it out but it is illegal to hunt over it.And i think that suxs

They got you there.</p>

That is the strangest thing I have ever heard. In thirty years of game wardening, I've never known that to happen on a deer lease. Too bad he didn't notice it when he was getting into his tree stand or after the sun came up.

IT'S HAPPEN TO ME DOWN HERE IN GEORGIA ........YOU NEED TO PUT UP TRAIL CAMS,WE DID AND WITH A PIC,THE LAW WILL HELP.....I COULDNT HUNT FOR 10 DAYS AFTER THE CORN HIT THE GROUND AND DNR SEEN IT.......HAVE A GOOD DAY
