Yesterday morning, it seemed like we were sitting in a hurricane for 3 hours, but after getting soaked for awhile we heard a hen pecking around, she came all of 5 yards from us and couldn't figure out wat we were or just didn't care, but we called bak and fourth for bout 30 min, she never went 20 yards away from us and finally we heard a gobble, he was on his way, took about 20 min but
he came about 25 yards and i got to finally shoot..
21 1/2 pounds

Great job! Since I had to cancel Crackerfest, my Dad and I went and set through the morning rains and storms in search for our first bird of the year. We had a couple hens come in but no long beard in sight. Right around 10am I looked and saw an extremely large bird come out into the field. I called and he half gobbled, I thought for certain he was going to come our way. WRONG....the heavens broke loose and he drifted back from where he had come. He was at about 70 yards and never saw a long beard but he was a big bird and it would have at least been fun to get a little gobbling action and a close call. I don't typically shoot jakes and I still don't know what he was and never will but I do know I need a couple breasts!
Once again congrats on a successful hunt.

DOCMAN,

You need someone to property sit while your gone to Kentucky?emoCool My Dad and I would be willing to protect your property. We would even dress inCamo and carry12 guages. You wouldn't want any poachers sneeking on to that property to take a Turkey now would you. However while property setting, should a Turkey decide to attack us we would have to defend ourself. After all the only way we are going to get a bird this year is if it is a Terrorist bird and want to commit suicide.emoCool

Hope you do well in Kentucky.

haha its my buds property in Ooltewah or you could,
