I've been working different colors of crankbaits, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, etc, trying to see which work best. I have spent more money than I want (but what fisherman doesn't) on lures. I am not looking for your favorite lure or lures, mainly the colors that you have had most success with. I mainly fish Chickamauga from the bank because I'm boatless (wife recently got pregnant so I don't see that changing in the near future). I fish for largemouth but have recently caught a couple smallies that tricked me into thinking they were bigger, so I may start targeting them. I've had some success with Helinsky? Or sexy shad and the more green ones (maybe gizzard shad color but not sure), and also with some baby bass swim baits. This thread is more so I'm not guessing what colors work, and also to keep me from buying the same lure in 5 different colors to see which works best. I realize that water clarity and how sunny it is will determine which colors to use, and that means i will need a couple colors of each lure but that beats me buying 5-6 of them. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

P.S. I do a lot more reading on the forum than I do posting because I am at the point of learning the body of water and seeing what works best for ME. I've been fishing here a couple months (been fishing salt and fresh water since I was strong enough to turn a reel handle, I'm only 26 now) and feel a lot more comfortable. Once I feel I can contribute anything to a thread, (I read almost every single one) I will definately give my 2 cents. Love the forum and really do appreciate all the help I have already received from a few members. Some of you may have seen me on the bank, I've been with my younger brother the last month or so hiking around Harrison Bay, Booker T, and Chester Frost. I will attach a photo so you know what I look like and you can give me a wave when you see me.

I already have my soft plastic colors. Can't go wrong with those 2 colors which are also my favorites plus some watermelon. Thanks for the reply.

Any of the shad colors work well for me as well as chartreuse/black or chartreuse/blue in stained water.

Just mix it up with a few different variations of shad colors and then have a few with more chartruse on them for when the water is stained.
And go vols!

Thanks guys! I bought a baby bass colored crankbait the other day. My reasoning is, they spawned not too long ago and I read they eat their babies once they leave the spawning bed. Anyone had any success with this? I've caught smaller bass with the baby bass swim baits, but nothing over 1.5#.
On another note, how can I edit my profile? Add in a location and etc?
