Guys,

I was just going through some stuff at one of my suppliers and found this. This is for the hard starting engines but is EXPENSIVE. Just thought I would post so you would see that is is aISSUE for this company to address it.

I am NOT trying to sell these, Just simply letting people know if you ever have to replace either of these parts that you can get rid of the hard starts!!!!!!!!! That it is a ISSUE with the 90* loopers.

What engine did you have????? This is a power pack and a timer base (trigger) for a late model 90* looper. Just the standard timer base is more than that. A power pack for a 96 200 is $310. I don't know what number you got or what engine you have. If it was a X-flow, yes they are cheaper than that. There are MANY different ignitions and they vary in price.

I dont recall what year it was. But it was a 90 something. But i do think the trigger was seprate. I dont have the motor any more because it decided to put a rod thru the block.

OH yeah, the ones with the windows in the block. Hate when that happens. Did it make any noise before it blew?

That is ususally when they go. They start running LEAN and POW!!! LEAN is MEAN!!!

A lot of racers use pyrometers and lean them out to "SAFE" limits of their piston material to get the most out of them. Only problem is every time you go to the lake, you may change jets 2 or 3 times to keep up with the atmospheric changes.

you r are right lean is mean. I blew one back in the winter. We where running 110 octane timing advanced bigger heads and some other stuff that i cant say. But we where there to race anyway owell. you play and you pay. Still was runnign 88.7 on 5 cylinders. Not to bad for and OMC. LOL

ok so mine starts alittle hard and my tach isnt working would this take care of the rectifre also thas what i was told was wrong with the tach and it would be like 200 to replace so if i could kill 2 birds with one stone i am all in

Nope the rectifier is a hole different animal. I just replaced alot of stuff on a 150 johnson because the rectifer shorted and it burned everything on top of the engine. His tach stopped about a month ago and he kept running it until it completely shorted. Then he not only had to buy a rectifier but he had to fix alot of other stuff that burnt when it shorted. I would reccomend getting that fixed as soon as possible. Just my opinion might save money in the long run!

Some of the rectifiers are EXPENSIVE. I have heard of them doing as spam said, catching on fire. I couldn't remember if it is the 60 or 90* that were bad about it.
