I have a 16 ft winner z660 with a 115 evinrude [ 1984] 19 sst prop that takes forever to come on plane. I have thought about a hydrofoil but don't know much about them. Any help would be appreciated.
Does it have a power trim? If it does, maybe the pin that limits how low the engine will trim down is set too high. The trim angle on my boat has a huge effect on the hole shot. Also, what is the max RPM the engine is turning at WOT? If it's about 5200-5500, that's about right. If it's less, the pitch on the prop is too big.
Thanks for the info. The motor has power trim and it is setting as for down as it will go. The rpm's are around 5300 so I think I will try the hydrofoil. It's not to expensive so if it does not work I will go to plan B what ever that is. I am new to the forum and this is my first post, so I appreciate all the help .
I just thought of one more thing, if the motor is mounted too high, you will also get this problem. Have a good boat-man look at it to determine if yours needs to be lowered.
