Fished the Tx this evening. It was very windy we caught probably 15 bass just under 15". Finally around 8:00 I caught one on a c-rig that went 15.5". At 9:24 my partner caught a 4.40# LM on a c-rig. We went to the weigh-in and Rogne Brown won it with 13.5 # with 3 fish!!! Thats not a typo! There was also a 10+# bag weighed, we had 6.10# with our 2 keepers. Just a place out of the money. There were several large fish that had big bellies full of eggs, and it really surprised me. There were 62 participants this evening. Whats it gonna take take catch ole Rogne???

I heard he was fishing the other day & had two or three guy's follow him all day. He was pretty p@#*@#d. As far as I know he took care of it with class the way he always does. That would suck to go out & try to find some fish & you look up & the same boat is rite behind you every time. Some guys worry to much about how fast their boat goes instead of how to catch fish. So they just try to take the easy way out.

I fished the dogfight but couldnt come up with 3 keepers.I caught several fish but all were just shy of 15 inches, had 1 real good fish about 3# and another throw the bait back at me about the same size as the 3#er. had alot of fun anyway.. I looked for you churly but i guess i overlooked you,was going to give you a hollar.

Yes I think Rogne is a class act. Hes always very modest, and he never runs his mouth. the funny part is that the guys that follow him around cant catch fish like he does. Not only is he good on Chick, I know he does well on other lakes like Old Hickory and Douglas. But, I have never seen anyone so consistent on this lake and he gets better every year. Fischnrod, sorry we missed. i usually have a green corona cap on. Maybe I'll catch ya next time.

Holy Crap! That's some good weight. And I know what you guys mean about guys following you around the lake. That's actually why I haven't been weighing in those heavy bags, I really just don't want to give away my best areas. It is tough to consistently have 10-12 boats of expert anglers follow you around all day every day, and even come by my house and work trying to figure out why I'm so darn good...............Oh wait, that's not me.

Oh yeah, that surprises me about unspawned fish. I have a couple baits that should kill for spawners but never gave them a real try this year. I may have to go at it again this weekend.
