Went out for awhile to try a new crank and check out some places i had put on the gps,blasted off just in front of the harrison dogfight,and churly. fished a small section of rip rap at loret marina with no luck,then ran out to some coordinates i had installed to see how hard it would be to locate. caught 1 on a worm,and a couple on a crankbait 2 were keeper size 15and 1/8 " pulled the boat out around nine oclock and ran into shocker at the ramp at chester frost . We talked fishing for a while and the map study that we had. good to see you again shocker and nice to meet your buddy.

The fish bit very well for many people, as indicated by the amount of fish weighed in. It took 7.55# to get in the money and just shy of 12# for the win, big fish was a stumpy 6.95#. 50 fishermen participated. We ended up with 3rd w/ 9.95#. We boated 12 keepers and 4 shorts, the bigest was 4.25#. The fish just bit consistantly all evening up until about 9:00. The most productive location was a deep water hump that is surrounded by 30ft water and tops at 16ft. the fish seemed to be on the deeper side, and several fish came out of 25ft. We caught our fish on the same old stuff; c/t-rigs, CBs, DJW deep SBs. I dont know what made the fish bite so well b/c there was no noticable current. But, the moon was overhead and the willow flys were going at it hard!

Good report churly. I thought they were pulling water yesterday? Did they put the plug back in prior to the T?

They were moving about 30K cfs when I left work and as I crossed the dam it looked like it was boiling good, but on the water you could not tell there was any current. They were adding that much w/ Watts Bar and Appalachia combined and the lake was holding almost stable for about 24 hours, a huge feet by TVA standards! I think the fish just decided to eat last night b/c I know I heard some guys that caught a limit out of grass on frogs. Fishing the shallow grass and out at 25ft water-sounds like a fairly healthy lake to me!? I say that but next thursday we wont be able to buy a dink probably.
