Has anyone else heard this?

I was putting in at Soddy Creek the other night and I was talking with a guy that was coming off of the water and he asked me if I heard about the dock that got burned in Wolftever. I said no, and he told me that the guy that owns the dock had found a rope tied to it. So, he started to investigate what it was. He found a basket that had LM in it, he released the fish and threw the basket in his yard. Then on Friday night his dock was burned. I haven't read anything about this any where and was wondering if anybody else has heard about this too.

I wouldnt doubt it, you'd think if someone was going to go as far as cheating that they could atleast be a little smarter about it. Its a bad deal that someone tries to do a good deed and ends up in that kind of position.

There is absolutely no truth to this story. It is a rumor that was started and I think has had a little bit added to make it sound better each time it was told.

I heard that there was 3-15 pound smallmouth in the basket, they were fattening up the fish for a fish fry the next nite, the next nite they built a huge fire to cook the fish over, (it takes a big fire to fry upthree 15pound smallmouths), the fire got out of control with all the beer drinking going on and the fire burned the dock down. The last I heard was the dock owner was trying to get his insurance to cover the burned dock and lost fish.
