Has this ever happen to you while fishing???

Yeah when we ventured into a navy bombing range in Florida. It seems they make a low level pass before making bombing runs to make sure no boats are trespassing.

In the mid-80's I was fishing in the second bend of Possum creek when 2 F-4 Phantoms flew over at tree top level. They were from the national guard and apparently were following the creek channel. It took us by suprise to say the least. You hear nothing until they are over and past you. Then the roar from the jet engines was all you could hear.

Fighter jets several years ago would scare you to death, tree top level, down on Weiss from Ft. Benning! You didn't hear them until you had already soiled you pants and were gone... then the sound would come.

I was fishing a rock pile on the Nick one time, down by the big grey bluff and a huge tanker plane was scooping up water between me and the bluff and they were dropping the water on Etna mountain, making practice drops and pick ups, that plane was as big as a mother's dream, just skimming the surface of the water, it looked to be as big as a C5A transport and the wing tip was about 100 feet from my boat.

I can't see the video at work but last year while fishing out of NC I started seeing some foreign Cutter ships about 8-10 miles out. I stopped to fish a reef when my radio picked up "SAY-CURE-IT-TAY, SAY-CURE-IT-TAY, SAY-CURE-IT-TAY, Please leave the area immediately." (in a Swedish sounding voice) Needles to say I acted like a donkey trader in a barn fire. ..................it seams they were playing war games that day and wanted me out of there.

The year before I was anchored on a reef about 5 miles out when a V-22 Osprey comes flying up, stops (rotor wing up) hovered, then flew off. That was pretty awesome. It was a weekday and I think they saw us out there by ourselves and wanted to do a little grand standing.

Osprey's are AWESOME machines... I wish I could work with one sometime.

Test Blackhawks make their banking turn right above the mouth of the Flint River on upper Wheeler, it literally shakes you to the bone... chill bumps!

A few years ago, Hal & I were fishing above Possum Creek when a Huey Cobra made a low-level pass down the River, then a 180 turn just past us then came back by. It looked like an Air National Guard chopper. A really cool-looking machine.

Several years back Daddy and I were fishing close to Moccasin bend and a hang glider with a engine decide it would be funny to stay above and circle for ten or 15 minutes. I can't repeat what Daddy had to say, but I think the Devil responded by say "Hay even we have lines we don't cross":)

Ice fishing at Rampart Reservoir in Colorado two military jets did a high speed-low level pass over us. Kicking up a rooster tail of snow as they screamed by. Didn't piss my pants but scared the begebees out of me for sure! I bet they weren’t 100' from the deck.

Me and my step bro were fishing in harrison bay one day last year and a plane circled a few times and landed in the water about 50 yards from us and took off again.... didnt come real close but still scared the crap out of us just because we thought he was making and emergency landing untill we saw the pontoons on it..... a few weeks later he did it again

There is a guy who lives back here in the creek that owns a sea plane and has it in a hanger back on the Long Savanah arm. Every few months, in the winter or early spring he will take it past my house, on the water, fly out to the open water in front of the Wolftever fishing club, and take off and come back a while later. I've never been out on the water when he's done it but the plane really makes a racket. I've never seen him and another boat meet there on that long skinny stretch of water just up stream from my house but I have always wondered what would happen if one of us was running wide open up the creek and met him coming out. There's just not much extra room on either side of the creek when he comes through that stretch. The plane that you saw may have been the one I am talking about. He doesn't take the plane out nearly as much as he used to.

Calderwood Lake: Several times over the last 30 years I've been on the water when fighter jets would zoom down the gorge at tree top/mountain top level.
