H'bird Temprature readings

I have 2 Birds on the boat and they both read within a few tenths of each other, as far as temp readings. But it seems they are consistently 1.5-3.0 degrees lower than other boats temp readings. My question is, has anyone else noticed this or is it just the 2 units I have? My units seem to measure accurately, meaning that the temps fluctuate the same as another boat temps just usually colder overall readings. Is this a Bird trait?

It doesn't matter what units from what company I've had. Mine have always been a little lower. Evidently guys like to exaggerate temperature measurements like other measurements...
